Dominic: Hello and welcome back to another edition of Under the Covers. My name is Dominic and I'm back officially with my milk. I I left the boys. It took me a little bit longer than I thought, but we're here. Matt.
Kevin Spisak: Is that milk expired?
Dominic: Yeah, Kevin, I know you've been sad. How how are you doing today?
Kevin Spisak: Doing all good. Just happy that Daddy's home.
Dominic: we got a good show for ya. Matt, how you doing over there?
Chief Wedge Officer: Dom, I'm doing great, man. I am so tired of this hundred degree weather in Texas. It's hot, baby. It's hot down here. Don't like it. but yeah, no, feel good. Feel like I'm feel like I'm in a Morgan Wallet walkout song right now. My that's what my life.
Dominic: Just a blissful feeling walking out like that.
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah. Yeah.
Dominic: I love it. Yeah, we got a we got a good show, a lot to talk about. Bo Hosler. We got the Wyndham Championship. some live news, Luke Poulter making some moves in in the college world. but first we get to talk about Michael Brennan. Wake for a standout, had a great weekend. He's been playing some really good golf lately. once again, Matt is just a tiny bit too early on his one and done picks. He had him he had him winning last week, or sorry, two weeks ago. But really good showing out of him. So he started off with an opening 66, 65, 63, and then a 64 for the final round on Sunday to end at 22 under par. so incredible golf. He only missed 12 greens all week, which is insane. just you know hitting the shots he needs to hit. There's only three players who shot better than Michael Brennan on Sunday. And that was Ben James had a 61, Novak, and Marco Penge had a 63. And we we say it a lot on this on this show that we love it when somebody wins rather than somebody losing. but I guess it except for Bo Hossler. Matt has some some things to say on Twitter about him. What what's the deal with with Bo Hostler these days?
Chief Wedge Officer: He just is a little whiny baby. Even like during the during the coverage, it was like, I've gotten five lies all against the collar. And he was just like, it was and even Trevor Imleman was like, just play. Just hit the hit the next shot. Like he was it was it was super annoying and he's super slow. they made Colt Nose made a comment. It was like At this pace it's gonna have to be forty-five minutes instead of sixty minutes after after the CBS was over. Or something like that.
Dominic: That's a that's a good one.
Chief Wedge Officer: I know. I thought that was so funny. I was giggling when I heard that. he takes so long over the golf ball to make a decision. It was truly terrible to watch. Do you Dom, I think this was before your golf watching time. Bo Hosler qualified for the 2012 US Open and Olympic Club when he was like fifteen, sixteen years old. And he was like leading
Dominic: Really?
Chief Wedge Officer: after thirty six poles. That was our intro to Bo Hostler in like twenty twelve. And he was like a he was just like
Dominic: Did not really.
Chief Wedge Officer: a high school kid. Yeah. If you go look it up, he and and then he went to Texas and, you know, did good and then he had this whole thing where he always just has some sort of thing going on, I guess, is my my thought. And it's never it's never about him winning. it's never about him. It's always like he's always got something going on. But yeah, Bo Hostler, Challenger Tour, whatever they call it. He's I'm good. Good on Bo Hostler. I'm good on Bo Hostler.
Dominic: He knows how to stay relevant. Let's get back to Michael Brennan. impressive stuff. He so he's been playing well. I I said in our text that it we're in a dangerous spot because Matt's learning how to pick one of duns. So next year it's gonna be rough for us, but he's kind of been steady all year. He he actually has made every cut for every major this year, including the players, if you want to count that as a major and So let's see if he can continue this good play. I think for now. you know, let's let's cozy up, get it get nice and comfy in the bed, get your warm glass of milk that I just brought ya. Kevin, let us know what's under the covers.
Kevin Spisak: Who who's bringing milk in the bed with them?
Dominic: Do you not?
Kevin Spisak: No. yeah, congrats to Michael Brennan. yeah, let's let's dive under his covers and look at his club. So driver is a common one we've seen throughout the season, title as GT three. So that's you know As a reminder, that's my secret hidden love interest. You know, don't don't tell ping, but GT3 is pretty sweet. he's got the Project X Hazardous Smoke Blue RDX 70 TX Shaftins driver. so an an older model from a couple of years ago, counterbalance designed. that we now we've seen a handful of times, you know, with like Matt Fitzpatrick and Wyndham Clark. Can you hear that? shit. I gotta start over.
Dominic: Yeah. Is that Jarvis?
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah.
Kevin Spisak: It's no, it's the Roomba upstairs. It was running over the stinking air vent.
Dominic: We're keeping it in. Keep going. You're killing it. The the stoic the stoic look as you kept going is pretty impressive out of you.
Kevin Spisak: I my little like bubble thing didn't like shoot up, so I didn't know if the microphone picked it up or not.
Dominic: So anyways.
Kevin Spisak: Anyways, so counterbalance design in a shaft. Yeah, we've seen that with like Matt Fitzpatrick and Wyndham Clark playing counterbalanced driver shafts. Then kind of skipping over the clubhead, you know, he uses the shaft that Wyndham Clark plays in his driver with the Titan Yellow in his three wood and seven wood. So he's counterbalancing all of his woods. the Titan yellow is very, very stiff. You know, I think I I forget if it was the Titan yellow or if it was like the the G seven where I said it was stiffer than Dom on a Friday night. but that's very accurate with with the
Dominic: Hard to do.
Kevin Spisak: shafts he's playing. You know, his driver shaft would be considered low, low to or mid to low spin and mid to low launch. you know, low for us normal people, but not as low as the hazardous line can go. But moving along his three wood GTS prototype, 15 degree three wood, and then a GTS GTS three seven wood. So title this across the board in the woods. you know big title this guy you know throw out the bag but pretty cool wood lineup I I really want to get my hands on one of these Titan yellows here very soon and see if I can actually put any any flex in that shaft.
Dominic: The boys got some speed, man.
Kevin Spisak: Mm-hmm.
Chief Wedge Officer: about speed dude he cruises at one eighty ball speed with his three
Dominic: Insane.
Chief Wedge Officer: That's so that's so f that's so fast.
Dominic: I can't even touch that with the driver.
Chief Wedge Officer: I know. It's n it's crazy.
Kevin Spisak: No, yeah, no.
Dominic: So it's it's been a while for me. Can you re explain what counterbalance is and why you would need it?
Kevin Spisak: Yeah, so counterbalances just you put more weight in the in the hands. so you know think of if you hold it if you hold one of your irons and you hold it in the grip, you know, the club feels pretty heavy. Then if you flip it over and if you hold the club head, the club still weighs the same, but there's weight in your hands. So, you know, it swings, it like it feels lighter.
Dominic: Mm-hmm.
Kevin Spisak: So the the more weight that's closer to your hands. the lighter the club head feels. and so, you know, you can really like haul off on, you know, your your drives are or in this case is three wood and seven wood. you know and then these super stiff shafts are just so stable to keep control, but then you can really just, you know, mash
Dominic: Gotcha. Okay.
Kevin Spisak: Yeah. If You know, if if it was really, really light in the hands, you know, then the head just feels a lot heavier, you've a higher swing weight.
Dominic: Mm. And that's what the yellow that's why they made the yellow is to make it counterbalanced. Nice.
Kevin Spisak: Yep, yep, versus the err the first Titan that came out was not counterbalanced.
Dominic: Okay, nice.
Kevin Spisak: Matt, have you ever played any counterbalance shafts?
Chief Wedge Officer: No, but honestly this year doing this podcast and just seeing what guys like play on tour, it's made me think about trying.
Kevin Spisak: Yeah. I think you would like the the s the hazardous smoke blue, you know, it's an older one. but I feel like that would fit you.
Chief Wedge Officer: I wonder if Kenny can get me get me one up there when I when I come visit in two weeks.
Kevin Spisak: He does he has a stockpile of He he when I bought my Hulk green from him, he had a whole slew of blues as well. They're the sm
Dominic: Well Matt, your swing
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah, but
Dominic: is your swing is smooth. Do
Chief Wedge Officer: Perfect.
Dominic: do you have yeah, absolutely. I I show I show all my friends, I go, look at his swing, it's sick. like do you have more in the tank? Like could you be swinging harder?
Chief Wedge Officer: So I will say I I went down a path of stacking this year. and I have quit stacking. I feel like it ruined my golf swing. I feel like I started hitting it terrible and just not playing well and then I stopped stacking and I started
Dominic: Yeah.
Chief Wedge Officer: So I don't know if I have much more.
Dominic: I think it works for people, but sometimes it just hurts. Kinda like the Hormone Derby. That's why people don't pr always go in there. It messes them up for the rest of the year.
Kevin Spisak: So Michael Brennan's irons. titles T100, four, and five iron. So a more forgiving model in the long irons. not surprising. We've seen that lots of times with the combo sets. and then more forgiving model on the rest of his irons than some other players with the titles CB620s. So cavity back still a player's iron. iron for sure, you know, not not a game improvement iron, but you know, just not a muscle black muscle back blade like some other people you know would play. And and that'd be six through nine. shafts project X 6.5 so very very stiff. Not quite the 7.0s that we've seen before but still quite stiff. then wedges Vokies all the way through It's got 46 degree F grind for his pitching wedge, 50 degree F grind, 54S grind bent to a 55, and then a 60 degree grind. Project X 6.5 in the pitching wedge, and then gets a little lighter with the dynamic gold s400 for the rest of its wedges. And and that we've that seems pretty typical now, you know, as we've seen this throughout the course of the season. Then, coolest club in his bag, as always for most people, Scotty Cameron Golo 6 Circle T Putter. I haven't seen a Golo win a tournament in forever. They I I want to say that that this head shape of the Golo came out like early teens.
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah.
Kevin Spisak: and it's such a good-looking head shape. I don't know why more people don't play it.
Chief Wedge Officer: Gary Woodland one with a custom center shafted golo. That's the last one I can remember.
Dominic: this be similar
Kevin Spisak: Yeah.
Dominic: to like the like Matt Fitzpatrick? Like the little half moon
Kevin Spisak: No, that's a blade. That's a blade. Mm-hmm.
Chief Wedge Officer: No, that's a Yeah.
Dominic: Was it the yes? it is a blade? Okay.
Chief Wedge Officer: It is a half moon, but like the whole putter's a half moon versus like Matt Fitzpatrick's face milling is like a half moon.
Dominic: Gotcha. Okay. Yeah, I love this butter. It's a perfect middle round.
Kevin Spisak: Yeah. Yeah.
Chief Wedge Officer: It's like a mid match. The the best putter on tour uses a golo shape. Name that putter, Kevin.
Kevin Spisak: What do you mean the best putter on tour?
Chief Wedge Officer: Consistently over the last like five, six years, the best putter on tour. Any any tour pro you ask, there'll be like who w if I had Roy McElroy's driving, you know, Scotty Scheffler's Iron Play, Hadeki Matsuyama short game, this guy's putting every tour.
Kevin Spisak: Isn't I mean I I think Sam Burns has like led from the stats perspective, yeah, for the last
Chief Wedge Officer: And Danny McC
Kevin Spisak: two years.
Dominic: Shabbat here.
Chief Wedge Officer: Shut up.
Kevin Spisak: Should
Chief Wedge Officer: Denny McCarthy
Kevin Spisak: said Denny McCarthy.
Chief Wedge Officer: Best putter
Dominic: Mm.
Chief Wedge Officer: on Twitter. Every like consistently.
Dominic: Dang.
Kevin Spisak: So do numbers back that up?
Chief Wedge Officer: I do believe numbers back that up. But while you continue to go I will
Dominic: That's fun.
Kevin Spisak: Okay. yeah. Michael Brennan's putter is sick. The yeah, Golo 6, like you can you can still buy it. Yeah, you can't buy obviously the circle tee, not anyone can grab those, but just the clean like milling, the shape, it is a beautiful putter.
Chief Wedge Officer: Denny McCarthy is eleventh on Toron Putting this year, but I will look up his history.
Kevin Spisak: Okay. We'll report back. but yeah,
Dominic: Okay.
Kevin Spisak: then last but not least, we're back to the old trustee Proby One for his ball. So pretty cool bag. Titleist getting some more wins. This has gotta be what our first well not our first, but one of very few bags that didn't feature a spider or a QI four D of some kind.
Dominic: Yeah, that's true. Whoa. That's fun.
Kevin Spisak: So Yeah. Yeah. Good work, Michael Brennan. Very cool bag.
Dominic: I wonder if we have some like backlog information. I should've looked this up, but if was he playing was he always playing the GT? Like was he always playing GTS three wood? Like did he change maybe he was using a QI a little bit ago or something like that. I'm I wonder.
Kevin Spisak: We could look back, I'd I mean I'd be surprised, like, you know, his driver is the G T three, so that's the model year old, and then his three wood and seven wood being this year's model you know, model. So I don't know why he would play a QI four D that's also this year's model to then sw
Dominic: Yeah, that's fair.
Kevin Spisak: switch. So I
Dominic: We love a loyal a loyal titleist king, you know?
Kevin Spisak: Yeah. And and he may ha he may be a full fourteen club contract guy.
Dominic: I like it. Well, cool. so a few, I want to say like a month or two ago, we had a loyal listener send in a a question via email. And we urge you if you have any questions about your clubs, send it to us under the covers golf at gmail.com. so what what he sent in, I don't know if we're going names, we can if we want. He sent in essentially his clubs, his whole bag.
Chief Wedge Officer: We'll call him we'll call him Scooter Boy.
Dominic: Scooter Boy. We thank you, Scooter Boy, for being involved. So Scooter Boy sent in his clubs and he said, fix me. I want you to give me a recommendation. I actually don't was he sending in like swing speeds and stuff? That's what I
Chief Wedge Officer: He's set swing speeds.
Dominic: thought.
Chief Wedge Officer: He he has a very similar swing speed to LPG tour players.
Dominic: nice. Okay, cool. So Matt, why don't you take us through kind of your thought process for the recommendations and then give us a little update to see how he's been doing.
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah, so Scooter Boy, you know, we we do we play a lot of golf together. So I know Scooter Boy, and he he's a he's a listener. thank you for being a an AWL. we he he's he's a gr he's a good golfer. he str only good. Only
Dominic: Only good.
Kevin Spisak: Only good.
Chief Wedge Officer: only good. we need him to play some better golf coming into the fall, because you know, we got we got some member member stuff coming up, you know, all that good thing. so he sent in his swing weights, and I had never seen his swing weights before. and it was very interesting to kind of go through being like kind of the club junkie that I am and and just seeing somebody that is a good golfer but not an equipment freak like we are, not know to like check their swing weights. on their clubs where he could be hitting making good swings and and he's hitting bad shots because of those swing weights or because something is off. so I'm gonna walk through a little bit. So he plays Taylor made stealth plus 70 gram hazardous shaft at a swing weight d5. he plays a four and seven wood ping four twenty-five max with the ping stock shaft at d zero and c eight. which is it which is really weird. I'm gonna keep going and then we'll kinda go back through it. His irons are all between the C six range and the C seven. He's a Mizuno girly, just like myself. so Mizuno nine twenty-three forged, a hundred gram shafts, which is I don't know, Kevin, might be a little heavy for the irons, but I guess not that bad. those will be light. Yeah, those
Kevin Spisak: I was gonna say light, yeah.
Chief Wedge Officer: light. Sorry, looking at something different. And then For his wedges, he plays he he follows the thing where he's made all of his wedges the exact same length. And then the only thing that's different is the lo is the lofts. So he knows exactly like what the difference between his forty eight and fifty two does. essentially.
Dominic: Cool.
Chief Wedge Officer: It's it's pretty interesting. And those
Dominic: I like that.
Chief Wedge Officer: he plays anywhere between C eight and D four, which is which is way a big gap.
Dominic: So these numbers, real quick, Matt. So these numbers
Chief Wedge Officer: So the first yeah.
Dominic: I'm I'll have on the screen. So these are what he sent in, right? These this is before any changes. Okay. I'll just say do a
Chief Wedge Officer: Right. Right. s so
Dominic: a quick crash course on what these D five C six is, if people don't know.
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah. So the way swing weights work is it goes from A to what E, Kevin? E is like super heavy.
Kevin Spisak: I mean I I think you could go to any letter you want, but you know.
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah. If you go above E, you're not s you're not in the you're you're not in the right club. so most most standard clubs live around between D zero and D four, I guess you'd probably say, Kevin, right? Like that's what the standard comes off the off the round.
Kevin Spisak: For yeah, for men's clubs for the most part. You see some Cs when you get into you have some lighter weight lighter weight clubs for sure, you know, for maybe older people or a women's set, junior set,
Chief Wedge Officer: Junior. Yeah.
Kevin Spisak: yeah.
Chief Wedge Officer: So his his but generally you want your driver lighter and then you go heavier as you get to the wedges, right? So the heavier you get to the wedges, you get more control with the wedges, you have more feel. You want your driver to be a lighter swing weight because you want to be able to swing your driver faster, right? That's the fastest club in your bag. is generally the way it works. So what what Scooter Boy has here is he has basically an opposite bag at all. seems like. His driver is his heaviest swing weight glove in his back. and his irons are some of the lightest, which makes no sense. so what we did was we put him in a we we moved him from a seventy gram shaft to a sixty gram X stiff Ventus red to get the ball up in the air a little bit more and then we moved some weight around in his stealth. to get his swing rate down to about D zero, D1 with his driver. and he's hitting his driver great right now. So love that. we put the same shaft except we went 70 gram extra stiff in his four and seven wood to kind of get his his swing weight up and matching and then we're gonna swing weight them so they're the exact same there. And then his irons, we put some lead tape on the heads to move the swing weights of his irons up to in the D range as well, kind of D two area, D two, D three. and then getting his pitching wedges and his wedge set all the way around anywhere between D three and D four is kind of what we shot for there. to kind of match his sets. So yeah, he's playing much better. I'd like to take credit that he went from about a plus two or I mean a two to about a plus point eight. over the last month since we've been on
Dominic: Insane.
Chief Wedge Officer: this journey. so I'd like to credit a lot of that to myself, really, and not his hard work and dedication.
Kevin Spisak: Good job, Matt.
Dominic: Yeah. It's all you, Matt.
Chief Wedge Officer: But I think what a lot of people don't realize with clubs is even if they're looking at the same dynamic gold X100 shaft or dynamic gold S300 shaft, not all the sha unless you have like the Tor issue stuff, they're not they're not all the same. They can all be slightly off. So you might have a eight iron and a seven iron that have the same hedge, same shaft, same grip, and they could be completely off and swing weight. Because one shaft is a few grams lighter than the other shaft. Even though they're the same profile and the same manufacturer and they're the same line, they're just not made of the tolerances where they match to the exact gram that they're supposed to match to hit that swing weight. so I would recommend anybody buying clubs off the rack to make sure that they get their swing weights checked pretty regularly to make sure that it's kind of staying in the between the mustard and the mayo.
Kevin Spisak: Yeah. And a a big thing that people don't think about, like I mean, normal people don't think about swing weights at all, but they're very important. And a very easy way to mess up your swing weights is by buying heavier grips. So yeah, people will be like, you know, I love the feeling of like this mid size grip, not paying attention to how heavy it is, and all of a sudden they just like took their swing weight down to like a C two, you know, like they can really like throw it off by by trying or you know, with the C C plus four mid size, you know, they're like, it's it just feels so good in my hands or whatever. but they just like throw off their entire set.
Chief Wedge Officer: That's why when I'm club buildings I'll always do swing weight measurements with the grip and the tape that I'm gonna use on the club.
Kevin Spisak: Mm-hmm.
Dominic: Okay. Could
Chief Wedge Officer: So I can
Dominic: if you're so like grips they deteriorate a little bit. Could it deteriorate enough to mess up your swing weight? Like if it gets like really whittled down or is it really not that crazy? okay.
Kevin Spisak: Take very long.
Dominic: We gotta check my swing weight on my clubs whenever we're together in a couple weeks.
Kevin Spisak: Yeah.
Chief Wedge Officer: Maybe I can bring my I can bring my mobile. Do you have a swing? you probably have they probably have
Kevin Spisak: They definitely they definitely do. you can also just you know, you can do it yourself and do a calculation. It's it's pretty easy. Yeah.
Dominic: really? Okay.
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah. Seamlessly, Nick Faldo used to get like a b used to get ten five irons that were sent to him back in like the nineteen eighties. And he'd hit all of them and he'd pick one that he really liked. L I guess n not really knowing what he was doing was finding the one that was the swing weight he liked.
Dominic: okay.
Chief Wedge Officer: That's like a very famous story that like they'd send him a bunch and like he'd be like, This is the one that I like. And he was like basically and then he'd go through a full set of that and basically he was finding the one that like matched the swing weight that he preferred. Yeah. Essentially. So
Dominic: wow. So he was doing it without realizing it. That's cool. Nice.
Chief Wedge Officer: yeah, that's Scooter Boy's bag. we are very happy emailed in and and it's a good case study because it it's like he was probably I I I seriously believe like he he's playing three strokes around better golf than he was with just having a couple swing weight changes in his back.
Dominic: That's awesome. Good job, Scooter Boy. Like we said,
Kevin Spisak: Good job, Matt.
Dominic: at under the covers golf at Gmail. If you do have any questions, we'd love to help out. I think we can just do a little recap of the the tournament if if we're ready. What do we think?
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah, the the Wyndham, I think the only big pieces that I have is I actually really like the Windham Championship. I think it's a cool tournament. I think the course is cool. Donald Ross design. Love love a good Donald Ross. And it's cool that this tournament's gonna be taken over by Raymond James Investing. so Windham won't be the sponsor anymore. but it will be a part of the championship series now. So
Dominic: very cool. Okay.
Chief Wedge Officer: Big boy Torgov, yeah.
Dominic: Nice. I the one thing I noticed, big thing I noticed was my boy Tony Finao. The man is going through it, y'all. He is resorting to one handed putting in a PGA tournament that
Chief Wedge Officer: Did see that.
Dominic: he's on like Is is he on the bubble? Is he is he like up there in his ranking 'cause
Chief Wedge Officer: I think he made it. I think he made it to to to East Lake, right? Or not to East Lake. He made it to
Dominic: That's what thought because so he was T sixty one in the tournament, but I wanted to show I wanted to point out, you know, the last two weeks you and I were talking, so Brad Docky came up and he really didn't have a very good showing. and you were saying that like or I think he had said his bad game is an eighty one, whereas Rory's bad game is a plus three. So there's just different levels to these pros. So Fino, he's been struggling with his putting all year. He's putting one handed and he's still making cuts. T sixty one and he's making the FedEx playoff. So it's it's insane how good these people are. He didn't make the playoff? Okay, well still. He's still making he's still making
Kevin Spisak: No playoffs. No. Finished ninety-eighth.
Dominic: cuts. It's it's it's bonkers, but the poor guy needs to figure that out. And it's definitely does this mean I can't buy the the ping alley onset?
Kevin Spisak: What are talking about?
Chief Wedge Officer: He's so bad.
Kevin Spisak: That's already locked in place. And and why
Dominic: I did want to talk about a certain bubble boy, Jackson Coyvin. He
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah, number seven, baby.
Dominic: my number seventy, he was the bubble boy. and it came down to the wire. And what what was
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah. Did. Bo would have won.
Dominic: Yeah, was it Bo winning would have kicked him out? Okay.
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah. Bow winning would have kicked him out. Yeah.
Dominic: Good thing he stinks.
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah, I get
Kevin Spisak: Mm-hmm.
Chief Wedge Officer: I get a couple Jordan Speith, did you see he he had he had to make par to make the cut on Friday? And then he just blocks one straight into the trees and then has to ship out and then hits it to twenty feet and then cans the twenty footer to make par. That was sick.
Dominic: The most Jordan Speith finish.
Chief Wedge Officer: And his first tee shot of the week was with an iron and he hit it OB.
Dominic: Way out. Yeah. That was rough dude. Like, he's finally gonna do it.
Chief Wedge Officer: He's number three four. yeah, I I wanna play my favorite game. real quick before we move on to the next next area. Okay. Kevin, you played you played last week. You're gonna play again. I'm gonna give you guys three speed demons. Okay? So three guys that absolutely maul the golf ball. They all have between one and two wins on the PGA tour. I want you to pick who you would rather have for the rest of their career. Who do you think has is gonna have the better career over? Okay. I have Michael Brennan, speed demon. He's got two wins on the PJ Tour. Minwoo Lee, believe he has one win on the PJ Tour, the Houston Open. And Altrich Potkeater. He has one win on the PG Tour, I believe. All Speed Demons, all somewhat in the beginning of their career. be interesting who you who you'd rather have.
Kevin Spisak: Hmm.
Dominic: If it was before this season, I would say Minwu Lee. But he's been all over the place. And
Chief Wedge Officer: He hasn't.
Dominic: Pot Potgeeter, I feel like, shows up at random times. he's a good he's a good player, but I I'm gonna use recency bias. I would take Michael Brennan, 'cause he's been he's been playing some good golf lately. So I guess we'll see how that goes starting next season, but Man, I really like Minwuli though.
Kevin Spisak: Yeah, I'm gonna go Minwu Lee in seventeenth in the FedEx Cup. He's had a good season. yeah, I I think I would I would have been, you know, surefire, not even considered anyone other than him before the season, but it's I think a toss-up between him and Michael Brennan.
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah, I think I think Michael Brennan has a better golf swing. I think Min Woo Lee has know, Michael Brennan's a big dude though and I think he's got some I think he's got some staying power. I would I would take both but I would probably lean towards Min Woo Lee just 'cause I but I don't know if that's just like social media, just like being like he's cooler on social media. So
Kevin Spisak: Yeah.
Dominic: His videos are great.
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah, so Ooh. Okay.
Kevin Spisak: Michael Michael Brennan is four years younger, so that that also kinda plays into it a bit.
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah, maybe that does mean.
Dominic: Minwu can only win in Houston, so
Chief Wedge Officer: So
Dominic: Bad place to be winning.
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah. That's my that's my game of the week.
Dominic: No, I love that. last couple notes about the tournament, and then we can get into some golf news. I really enjoy these last few tournaments of the year because it's it's all FedEx Cup watch. So they after every hole, they show you what the player's FedEx ranking is, and that is a very fun thing to watch and just hyper fixate on. I don't know if y'all noticed that
Kevin Spisak: Yeah, I
Dominic: one.
Kevin Spisak: I agree and you know even though the format's changing, I think it was fun with like, you know, the reduction to seventy for the playoffs, you know, I think it kinda added some drama on who's gonna get in, who's not.
Dominic: Mm-hmm. Yeah, so Matt, why don't you take us through I know there's some there's some very fun live golf news that's coming out the last few days. Why don't you take us through that?
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah. man, have we we've been through the ringer on this. so Liv got an investor, I guess, as they announced. I'm not sure how or who or what. Nobody knows. it was
Dominic: Yeah.
Chief Wedge Officer: a very weird press conference. It was just, hey, this person wants to invest. We're good through the next two years or something like that. But not really because they like are taking down the number of events and then right after that, the FT, the Financial Times, released something that it was like this B C Partners or something. And so I'm gonna I I am the least financially the the least person to to go through talking about investment banking or or that side of the business world. Is not my area of expertise, but I'm gonna give it my best shot. so
Dominic: Here
Chief Wedge Officer: what I what I read through with the help of Claude is there's 250 million for a majority equity stake. so it's more like a loan than it is an investment, essentially. They're basically loaning out the money to live for equity, to basically say if live fails, that company has the right to just sell off all the assets. And liquidate everything. so it's not an investment, it's more like a loan, is the way I read it. the players become equity partners in the league as well. so they're staking their future in that the league grows, essentially. the loan is contingent on keeping players like Bryson DeChambeau, John Rahm, and Cam Smith. So if John Rahm says Adios, I'm out. Like the partners can be like, Well, we're out too.
Dominic: Wow. Okay.
Chief Wedge Officer: And get and I guess get their money back. The PIF, the
Kevin Spisak: Okay.
Chief Wedge Officer: public investment fund of Saudi Arabia, will pay off the rest of the contracts at a discount to players like Rom and Cam Smith. So the the the PIF is essentially like Cleaning their hands of everything.
Dominic: Yeah. Did did th did they file bankruptcy or did they just say we're not funding you anymore?
Chief Wedge Officer: They're just not f the the PIF No, the PIF has like a
Kevin Spisak: Ha ha.
Chief Wedge Officer: billion dollars dump.
Dominic: That's what so how are they allowed to do that? How are they not allowed to how
Kevin Spisak: That they just pulled out.
Dominic: are they not allowed to pay all these people their money fully? They can't just say, you know what, we're done with that.
Kevin Spisak: think 'cause they're a they're an investor in the in the organization. Like they weren't the organization.
Dominic: that's right.
Chief Wedge Officer: I mean yeah. So like they can they basically like in theory like if the PIF if if in if Liv decided not to do anything and just like go bankrupt, like nobody's getting paid.
Dominic: That's insane, dude.
Chief Wedge Officer: But like live but like for Saudi Arabia, they're gonna like pay off the rest of the contracts for like good PR and just like as a show of goodwill, I guess, because it's dropping the bucket for them. but what that means is that Rom, Bryson, Cam Smith all have to be re-signed by this new Live thing. So in theory they would all become like free agents in the
Dominic: Mm-hmm.
Chief Wedge Officer: like until they get re signed, but there's probably something in their contract that says they're not. I don't know. confusing. but no Dom, the Piff did not run out of money.
Dominic: I was like, that's so weird.
Chief Wedge Officer: But like also like if they didn't pay like who are they gonna sue? Like is it it's gonna be John Rahm against Saudi Arabia?
Dominic: I'd watch that.
Kevin Spisak: Yeah.
Chief Wedge Officer: I I don't think he's gonna win. there's gonna be a ten event schedule, five abroad and five in the US with a much smaller purse size. and and so yeah, that's kinda like the the thing. This reminds me of when you like were in high school and you were like, Yeah, I have a girlfriend, but she goes to a different school. and like
Dominic: She she totally exists.
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah, she exists, but she like goes to a different school. This is
Dominic: Yeah, yeah.
Chief Wedge Officer: what this. I don't know. It seems like Liv is gonna stick around. I don't know in what format. it seems like Bryson is attaching his his self to this. It seems like John Rahm is is like dead in the eyes whenever he does any interviews. So, I I I have a funny feeling John Rom's not gonna stick around and things will get good. But yeah, I think it's gonna be I think it's gonna be electric fall, for Liv golf to see what happens with all this. It'll be very fun. Either way, if it works or doesn't work. So
Dominic: Feel like Bryson is he's very full of himself these days. Like he's he's like God's gift to golf. And he's that's how he's talking in these interviews. And it's like I'd be careful a little bit of what you say now. 'Cause like
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah.
Dominic: that the comments that he said where he's the the stadiums and golf, it's like you've been trying that for four years now, three years now. It's not working. So like what where do you go from here? It's very interesting what he's doing.
Chief Wedge Officer: did you hear he wanted to like set up like you know, stadiums or something?
Dominic: Yeah. Welcome to the conversation. I said that three seconds ago.
Chief Wedge Officer: Sorry, that was my I got pinged at work. There's some fucking plane. This is what
Dominic: That's okay, Matt.
Chief Wedge Officer: Kevin does. This is what Kevin does. You know, he ruins plane.
Dominic: It's it's all Kevin's fault. Well let's talk about Michael Block. He he's playing in the the seniors tour in Scotland, and he's so mad at the course conditions that he just walks off of the whole a whole twelve in the final round. And like he apparently doesn't tell any of his playing partners, but then he went on Instagram, like did like the tech story saying that he did, like making that okay. It's like you still walked off a golf course because you were mad at it's like how do you complain about course conditions in Scotland?
Chief Wedge Officer: And it was at Trump Aberdeen, right?
Dominic: Mm hmm. Yeah. It's like you're in a different country. It's not going to be what you're used to. That's the whole point.
Chief Wedge Officer: And the courts in Scotland are like not known to be like like they're not like the United States.
Dominic: Yeah, they're sheep farms.
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah.
Dominic: Like they literally they they build it they don't do anything to the land. That's just how the g the land is over there. So I think Michael
Chief Wedge Officer: So
Dominic: Blo I think the block party is officially over. I don't think people are gonna put up with them anymore.
Chief Wedge Officer: I there was somebody's saying something where it was like this guy is like he just keeps duping us into like content.
Dominic: Yeah.
Kevin Spisak: Yeah didn't he get like a two stroke penalty before the tournament 'cause he said he was like signing autographs or something like that or taking pictures. He he was late to his tea time and he b he blamed
Dominic: Did he really?
Chief Wedge Officer: For V Yeah, well he was he was tea town. Yeah.
Kevin Spisak: it on like he was taking pictures with people or something like that.
Dominic: What a dangle, dude.
Chief Wedge Officer: He
Kevin Spisak: Yeah.
Chief Wedge Officer: he's the he's the do you ever hear the did you ever watch the Tinder Swindler on Netflix?
Dominic: Yeah.
Chief Wedge Officer: Kevin, you never watch that? You should watch.
Kevin Spisak: No. I don't know that one.
Dominic: What a comparison.
Chief Wedge Officer: Good one. He's kind of the golf swindler, like he swindles people into like thinking he's something.
Dominic: Did you watch the the YouTube golf invitational, or whatever it's called? The YouTube golf tour?
Chief Wedge Officer: No, I have respect for myself.
Dominic: I think you would you would hate it if you watched it. It the the bl Michael Block like section was a hard watch. He's he's a little cringy.
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah, yeah, yeah. And the Malbon stuff and just yeah. There's gonna be like a whole thing of like you know, we were four years ago we got dragged into this by big media and we can't get ourselves.
Dominic: Big media.
Kevin Spisak: Mm-hmm.
Dominic: I think we gotta we gotta talk about the whole in one scandal. Kevin, do you see all this that's going on?
Kevin Spisak: Yeah, so it's like about twenty-five minutes from where I live, Winghaven Country Club. It's like
Dominic: It is?
Kevin Spisak: right by my office. and I've he I've heard it. I I don't know how true this is, but I heard from a reliable source that it's nicknamed Swinghaven because of some some swinging rumors. I I thought it was maybe like a golf pond, but I don't know. Maybe some pineapples there. But it's a nice neighborhood. yeah, the the guy, you know, member member tournament goes out, fakes a hole in one by you know taking a fake comp phone call about his sick grandma. and then you know, I I'm sure everyone knows the story like in depth by now, you know, of of getting caught on the security cameras. But do you see like the the screenshots of his like sandbagging too. He like yeah,
Dominic: No
Chief Wedge Officer: Somebody that I haven't seen that.
Kevin Spisak: he that someone like sent some screenshots that before a tournament he was like a plus two handicap and so he put in a bunch of like fake rounds so that he could like bullet get his handicap up to like a two. you know it because he he said he hates giving strokes back to the field, you know, by being a plus handicap.
Chief Wedge Officer: Me too, brother. Me too.
Dominic: Like I I get it, but you're good. You know? That's and then I think the saddest part is going on the radio show and like
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah, whatever ESP today.
Dominic: like dude, get the fuck out of here. Are you kidding me? Like if
Kevin Spisak: Yeah.
Chief Wedge Officer: I'm not a leader.
Dominic: I can't believe my I got that's not me. I'm not a cheater on the golf course. Sir, I hate to break the news, you are a cheater. That's that's such effort to go through to get a hole in one. It's insane.
Kevin Spisak: Mm-hmm.
Chief Wedge Officer: So
Dominic: I kinda respect it. That's he did it well. You know, like if there wasn't
Kevin Spisak: Things that
Dominic: security cameras, people believe him.
Kevin Spisak: the things that people do for not that much money, it's crazy.
Dominic: Yeah.
Kevin Spisak: Like, you know, the hole in one pot, it's like, you know, a couple thousand bucks. Like, it's it's nothing to sneeze at, but it's like the how this is blown up in his face is ridiculous. That is not worth the risk.
Chief Wedge Officer: I'm gonna I'm gonna tell a hole in one story from from the c from from my club this weekend. somebody did get a hole in one at our club this weekend.
Dominic: Nice.
Chief Wedge Officer: and it was cool, yeah. but I think he's he's you know, he's he's catching some flack in some areas 'cause he went up to the bartenders and he's like, do not put anything on my bar tap unless I bless it. And every I think
Dominic: I respect that.
Chief Wedge Officer: Get outta here. It's that's the whole point. It's It's an expensive day.
Dominic: So someone should so I can just go up and say, I'll take seven shots of Blanton's whiskey on that guy's tab. No. You can't do that. I I think you should buy drinks.
Kevin Spisak: No, it's a it's a gentleman's game though.
Dominic: Yeah, you should buy drinks, but like I'm not gonna have the open tab the entire night. That's crazy, right?
Chief Wedge Officer: I know man. If it's your
Kevin Spisak: I have you heard you can you can buy whole-in-one insurance so that if you ever make a hole in one that you'll get a big like payout to fund all those drinks.
Dominic: Really?
Kevin Spisak: Mm-hmm.
Dominic: I would bay everybody's round. I'll get a round in the clubhouse, which is a lot of it's a lot of drinks to pay for. But like open I guess I mean in your club maybe open open tabs aren't too big of a deal, but
Chief Wedge Officer: No, it's it was just it was just funny because I think like his crew was like I think the crew was ready to ready to party and he was like he was like no no no no no Yeah. Like I I don't
Dominic: I was gonna say
Chief Wedge Officer: I don't know him super well so like I wouldn't go up and be like give me ten Miller lights on that dude
Dominic: Yeah, like so
Kevin Spisak: So that's it.
Dominic: that's the question is what are you paying for? Like I would pay if it's us three and then a fourth, I would pay for y'all's drinks all night.
Chief Wedge Officer: So we do my we essentially do everybody pays the length of the hole in one. Yeah. So like let's just say I make a hole in one is two hundred yards. We have a group of like six people. All everybody except the person that made a hole in one pays the person that made a hole in one two hundred dollars. The thing is is you have to go and spend that that day.
Dominic: That's fair. I like that a lot.
Chief Wedge Officer: So like if you could you could buy steak dinner.
Dominic: Yeah. That'd be awesome. That's a fun little group there.
Kevin Spisak: Yeah, I like that. Yeah.
Chief Wedge Officer: Scooter boy was playing somewhere and he said it was a caddy, it was placed with the caddies. And if you made a hole in one with the caddies, you had to buy the caddies new pairs of shoes.
Dominic: These rules are are getting
Kevin Spisak: Yeah.
Dominic: out of hand. Kevin, are gonna buy your caddies in Jamaica? A bunch of new shoes?
Kevin Spisak: I I I hadn't thought about it. I guess I gotta go back.
Dominic: Wasn't there like four wasn't there like four caddies out there or are they like the maintenance crew that was there?
Kevin Spisak: It was two two maintenance guys and one caddy that yeah.
Dominic: okay. Gotcha.
Kevin Spisak: Yeah, I did not think to buy him new shoes, but maybe I should have.
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah, there you go.
Dominic: So I wanna shout out and talk about Luke Poulter, some of the US amateur news. so he's a heavy favorite to win, but he got a very interesting NIL deal, and his NIL deal is with Liberty National Golf Club. So he's rocking their their logos all over, and they're paying him
Chief Wedge Officer: Which is
Dominic: I'm huh?
Chief Wedge Officer: Liberty National's the one like right off of Long Island, like right off of New York City that you can like see the Statue of Liberty in the city from.
Dominic: So I'm curious if he was already a member or if that like includes a membership. You know, like they didn't really say it anywhere. but that's a pretty sweet NIL deal.
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah, I've never heard of like a club sponsoring somebody.
Dominic: I wanna say it's the first
Kevin Spisak: Yeah.
Dominic: time.
Kevin Spisak: It was fun to watch Tommy Fleawood wearing all the like club merch, you know, when he was the clothing free agent. That was pretty
Dominic: Yeah.
Kevin Spisak: cool.
Dominic: Yeah, that's a cool move. I like that a lot. 'Cause they probably get sweet discounts in those in those stores.
Kevin Spisak: Mm-hmm.
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah, like a lot of times PJ Tour Pros will get like honorary memberships where they can practice and play and they don't have to pay anything.
Dominic: okay.
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah. But I've never
Dominic: And then another another amateur. I don't know if y'all saw his name is Mike McCoy. Sixty-three years old. One of the sw
Chief Wedge Officer: Very good answer.
Dominic: one of the swaggiest dudes out there. During the practice round, he had a Pine Valley visor and then a seminal polo. I might have flipped those, but still rocking both of those logos and then just ripping a cigar the entire round.
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah.
Dominic: Like hell yeah. It's like his twentieth US amateur that he's competed in.
Chief Wedge Officer: One a few senior ams, I think. He's a pretty good
Dominic: Yeah.
Chief Wedge Officer: good player.
Dominic: Unreal. That'd be fun. That'd be fun. What else we got in the news, Matt?
Chief Wedge Officer: FedEx Cup? FedEx? G I s that's so FedEx officially has bowed out of the PJ Tour. So R.I.P.
Dominic: That feels wild.
Chief Wedge Officer: RIP to the FedEx Cup playoffs, R.I.P. to the FedEx Cup points. That's crazy. I can't I I don't even remember when it wasn't the FedEx Cup.
Kevin Spisak: Yeah. Do we know what is it gonna be next year?
Dominic: McLaren point.
Chief Wedge Officer: I think I think they've signed I think this deal goes through twenty through next year. So they'll still be on next year. And then
Dominic: okay.
Chief Wedge Officer: then it's up. 'Cause they
Dominic: Yeah, like is this in response to the the FedEx Cup playoffs going away, probably? Like they're just not sponsoring any other thing.
Chief Wedge Officer: Well, I think the playoffs are still gonna be there in some form or fashion. They're gonna be different. I just think FedEx, like I mean, honestly I'd probably bet like the PG tour like, Hey, we you guys put up a I don't know, you guys put up fifty million every year. The number is now a hundred million and FedEx Cup was like FedEx was like, No.
Dominic: That's fair. Sponsor a
Chief Wedge Officer: Look for somebody else.
Dominic: golf tournament.
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah. it's gonna be interesting to see who they pull out. Who they who they get. I don't know. But hope it's somebody good.
Dominic: Rocket mortgage.
Kevin Spisak: Well yeah, rockets rockets done with the rocket class.
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah, Market's done.
Dominic: Maybe an under the cover
Chief Wedge Officer: I guess
Dominic: sponsor.
Chief Wedge Officer: I guess they could do like I mean they could it's probably gonna be a combination or like somebody like Coca Cola or like somebody that
Dominic: Like big boy.
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah, it's gotta be somebody big. I just can't imagine who's I mean, it's all about the corporate build out, so we'll see. So
Dominic: Well beautiful. let's see. So went over the Wyndham, went over Michael Brennan, went through some golf news. Is it time for some trivia maybe?
Kevin Spisak: Not quite. We gotta preview the Saint Jude.
Dominic: Let's do it. Okay. So FedEx Cup, Saint Jude. What do we know about this tournament or about this course?
Chief Wedge Officer: Hot in Memphis.
Kevin Spisak: yeah. Lucas Glover, change your pants.
Dominic: I I would love to see some swass this weekend.
Kevin Spisak: Mm-hmm.
Chief Wedge Officer: Kevin, if you do you know anything about TPC Southwind?
Kevin Spisak: all I know is that it's hotter than balls and No, that's it. That's all I got. I know where it is on a map.
Chief Wedge Officer: So it's funny. It basically Yeah it basically goes through like a corporate park, essentially. Like you can people can watch the tournament happen from their offices Thursday and Friday.
Dominic: Whoa. That's cool.
Chief Wedge Officer: It like goes through like a corporate, yeah, it's it's super weird. But yeah, I mean FedEx obviously sponsors this tournament, so they brought it up. It's actually already announced that it's not Going to be part of the championship series. It's going to be part of the Challenger series in 2028. So because
Dominic: okay.
Chief Wedge Officer: FedEx FedEx is going to drop it. So Memphis, the Memphis event will drop to the to the Challenger series. honestly, like,
Kevin Spisak: It's a bummer.
Chief Wedge Officer: yeah. TBC Southwind is whatever. I mean, the 18th hole is cool because I feel like they always go into a playoff and it's that super hard T shot. and then it's overwhelming. I feel like we always get into a playoff every year in this tournament. So it'll be fun to see, I guess. but yeah, there's nothing that's really s there's nothing that's really special. Like so many people skip this tournament. Like I think Rory skips this tournament every year, even though it's like I mean at this point for these guys it's guaranteed cash. Like so they're just like the last place finisher gets like two hundred grand.
Dominic: You can skip this tournament? Is this not the start of the playoffs?
Kevin Spisak: It it it
Chief Wedge Officer: Doesn't mean yeah.
Kevin Spisak: it is, but y it doesn't necessarily like mean that you're gonna, you know, not be in the top ten if you have enough points.
Dominic: Yeah, that's fair. Okay. 'Cause it it's all point based.
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah. And so like Rory's like basically like, nah, FedEx Memphis in this in August. I'm I'm good dude. You can you guys can do this one without me.
Kevin Spisak: Yeah. It is a rough location, but yeah the the scoring record Dustin Johnson won at thirty under in twenty twenty.
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah.
Dominic: I forgot about that. my god.
Chief Wedge Officer: Remember he pulled out on the last on the eighteenth hole?
Kevin Spisak: I don't remember anything about that year, just other than being a giant blur.
Chief Wedge Officer: To win he dunked it. not to win, he was already gonna win, but like it was like, he's hitting his second shot at and he just dunked it.
Kevin Spisak: Yeah, I was gonna say to win his margin of victory was eleven strokes. And yeah,
Dominic: Yeah, I'd say he had that pretty locked up.
Chief Wedge Officer: It was like
Kevin Spisak: yeah, he he won the the fall masters that year with the scoring record at the Masters. But that that doesn't really
Dominic: That was COVID, so I don't even count.
Kevin Spisak: count, yeah. The and the year before especially doesn't count because P Reed won this tournament, so
Chief Wedge Officer: God. Yeah, that's all I got on Memphis. It's not a great week in golf. It's one of those weeks you can kinda skip if you want to.
Kevin Spisak: Yeah, well I can go into a trivia question around this tournament. You guys ready? Got a got a doozy for you. so Saint Jude, great charity. you know, really important mission, you know, helping with children's cancer and and stuff like that. that's why I say it's a bummer that it would be the on the Challenger series. I feel like Saint Jude's Heav Saint Jude Heaven. Eyeballs is always good. so not golf related question, but Saint Jude related question because I don't want Matt to get this. lots of different avenues that St. Jude, you know, fundraises and you know, different people donate. So in 1964, Elvis Presley donated this unknown gift. that's the trivia question to Saint Jude for them to sell as a fundraiser. What did Elvis Presley donate to St. Jude in 1964?
Dominic: I've actually heard this before.
Kevin Spisak: A as
Chief Wedge Officer: Like
Kevin Spisak: as a reminder while you think if one of you gets it, then the other two will chug a beer. I d I had way too much to drink with work last night, so I really, really don't want you to get it.
Chief Wedge Officer: He donated a
Dominic: 'Cause I think it's something ridiculous. Like it it's it's one of those things you're like, that is weird, but it's Elvis, so it's gonna make a lot of money. Unless it was like his car or something.
Chief Wedge Officer: Did he himself donate it or did his estate donate it?
Kevin Spisak: He d he donated it.
Chief Wedge Officer: Okay. I was gonna say his pelvis. Elvis the Pelvis.
Kevin Spisak: Is that is that your guess?
Dominic: Elvis the pelvis his Coke mirror.
Kevin Spisak: be thirteen years before he died, so
Dominic: Shoot.
Kevin Spisak: Gotta make a guess here, running out of time.
Dominic: Yeah.
Chief Wedge Officer: no. I'll say he donated a guitar.
Dominic: is food item too broad?
Kevin Spisak: No.
Dominic: feel like it was something like a sandwich, like a like something ridiculous. Like his peanut butter and banana like whatever he was doing back then.
Kevin Spisak: Okay. No. You're you you're you're both wildly off. I was gonna be very lenient on like what you would say. So if if you could have gone as simple as a boat, but the the actual boat is the USS Potomac, which was the presidential yacht of Franklin D. Roosevelt. Who who knew that presidents had yachts back in the day? But yeah, supposedly there was like some secret meetings that happened on this boat. FDR used this until he died and then Elvis bought it for fifty-five thousand dollars and then gave it to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for a fundraiser. So yeah.
Dominic: I knew something weird. Samsonite. I was way off.
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah.
Kevin Spisak: Yeah, so you're
Dominic: That's a good tri Ooh. I just dropped my water bottle. That's a great trivia question.
Kevin Spisak: Yeah, you were in the right mindset by thinking it'd be something wild, but
Dominic: Yeah. Nice. Okay. So I think it's time for some one and duns. I've been catching some flack on I've been listening to the episodes and I'm not here.
Chief Wedge Officer: Dom, I hate that pick.
Dominic: it's good to be back, man. Good to be back. So let's let's do a little recap for the windem. So I had chosen Aaron Rye. Kevin went with the young stud Jackson Coyvon. And then Matt
Kevin Spisak: Yeah.
Dominic: went with Keegan Bridley. So Keegan, everyone made the cut, which is massive. whenever I choose Keegan Bradley. Horrible idea, but then Matt chooses it the next week. so he ended up T49, and then Jackson Coivan and Aaron Rye both were at T29. Coyvin was he was pretty up there in the standings the entire time, and then Sunday must have dropped some shots, but that brings our totals to 400. No, I'm sorry, 1,464 for our favorite boy Matt. Kevin is
Chief Wedge Officer: Fine.
Dominic: sitting at 1,059. And then I'm at 722 on the year. So with three tournaments left, the maximum number of points is 120. That's if I get dead last and y'all win. Did I do my math right?
Chief Wedge Officer: You've won.
Dominic: So I think I won officially, which is sick. So What I did want to do is what you were saying last week, Kevin. Should we do a little side bet? And we can either do worth double or just do like clean slate for the playoffs.
Kevin Spisak: Mm. That's a good that's a good question. I I think we could do a clean sleep with the playoffs.
Dominic: Just choose anybody we want, no matter if you chose them already.
Kevin Spisak: No, I mean not standings. I think we should keep the running keep the running golfers, but
Chief Wedge Officer: Ye yeah, I think 'cause it I think it can get I think y like I'm going through the list and I'm like, man, I gotta get freaky with my pics.
Kevin Spisak: Yeah.
Dominic: Do you?
Chief Wedge Officer: I I've chose most of these people.
Dominic: yeah, that's true. I'm looking at your
Kevin Spisak: Yeah.
Dominic: okay.
Kevin Spisak: In in the top seventeen in the world golf rankings, I only have two options. So
Dominic: All right, Matt. Who do you have for the FedEx St. Jude Championship?
Chief Wedge Officer: Dude, I am struggling to find somebody that pops out to me on page. I'm not gonna lie. Yeah, I'll I'll go with somebody that's been playing pretty good this year, Michael Kim.
Dominic: Ooh, that's a fun one to root for. Nice.
Chief Wedge Officer: Yeah. Yeah. He's been playing good this year. He he's he's seems to always pop up on leaderboards. So do I think he's gonna win? No. Probably top ten.
Dominic: I like it. Cool. Michael Kim.
Kevin Spisak: Yeah, la last week I was de I was about to pick Michael Brennan. And then your your rationale around picking someone who is gonna be fighting to make the FedEx Cup playoffs maybe pick Koivan. I really regret that.
Dominic: Yeah, that's wild.
Kevin Spisak: I am going to go with Doo Doo Siwoo Kim would be my pick for the week.
Dominic: Ooh. A lot of Kims. Okay. Let's get a good comeback story here. I'm just kidding. I'm gonna go with Jackson Coivan. He is number number seventy in the rankings, but I don't think
Kevin Spisak: I thought that was gonna
Dominic: he's playing like a number seventy. So I think he's gonna be I think he's gonna be
Kevin Spisak: No, yeah.
Dominic: top half. Alright, well, great episode. Good to be back. pretty excited to to see this these playoff run and see what what kind of golf we can see from from these guys. we have been tracking all year manufacturers, club specs, and models. next week we're gonna put that together and share it with y'all. I think it's gonna be very eye-opening. so We kind of did it earlier in the year, kind of a halfway point. So driver type, fairway type, putters, balls, all the things that that we all the players get to choose from. So it'll be pretty fun to see which manufacturer comes out on top. So be ready for that. Matt has a a fun episode with him and his guys from Scotland. So that'll be coming out here pretty soon, maybe in the next couple weeks. So be on the lookout for that. do we have anything else, guys?
